License & terms
Plain-language summary followed by the terms. This is a template — have counsel review before launch.
In short
- Buy once, use the data inside your business forever — analysis, targeting, territory planning, reports for clients.
- Don't resell or redistribute the dataset itself, or a copy that is substantially the raw data.
- Sold as-is. The underlying source is public US Census data.
1. Grant of license
On payment, you (the purchasing individual or organization) receive a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased data file(s) for your own internal and client-facing business purposes, including analysis, modeling, marketing-territory planning, and incorporation of derived results into reports and applications.
2. Restrictions
- You may not sell, sublicense, publish, or otherwise redistribute the data file(s) as a standalone product or dataset, or as part of a product whose primary value is the data itself.
- You may not represent the data as your own original compilation when redistributing derived work.
- Internal copies and backups are fine; sharing the file outside your organization is not.
3. Source & accuracy
US Census Bureau, American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year estimates, joined to Census ZCTA Gazetteer. Figures reflect the 2019–2023 American Community Survey 5-year estimates and are estimates with sampling error, particularly for low-population ZIP codes. ZIP codes are represented as Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs), which approximate USPS delivery ZIPs; PO-box-only and some unique ZIPs have no ZCTA and are not included. The data is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. Liability is limited to the amount you paid.
4. Refunds
Because the product is delivered instantly as a digital file, all sales are final. If a file is corrupt or does not match what is described here, contact support within 14 days for a replacement or refund.
